FEP-EP 4 Days Extension Trip to Putao

Day 1 Yangon-Putao (B)

After breakfast & check-out at the hotel, transfer to Yangon Airport to take a morning flight to Putao, either via 2-sectors of Mandalay & Myitkyina or via 1-sector. Upon arrival at Putao, it will be the time for lunch at a local restaurant and transfer to the hotel in a  jeep. Lying in a flat valley, Putao is, in fact, a starting point for trekkers who want to explore the region’s deep pristine forests, wildlife sanctuaries and snow-capped mountains etc. Putao town was built during 1914-15 by Commissioner Mr. Hertz along with its Fort later known as Fort Hertz. At about the same time, Christianity was founded by American Missionaries, who also introduced Grapefruit, Washington Naval, Vlincha Orange, Ruby Oranges, King Oranges and King Mandarins plus America Limes to the tribal people there. In the late afternoon, trek to Panhline and Hokho Shan villages in Putao region.There are some Shan villages in & around Putao and Phanhline is the biggest and the most beautiful.The sunset is to be enjoyed at Sutaungpyi Stupa on the mountain of Mr. Harez, dinner time and overnight at the hotel. Day-2 Putao-Nankhan (B)

After breakfast & check-out at the hotel , morning visit to the colorful local market to explore the way of life of the different tribes in northern Myanmar. Then one hour jeep drive to Htawadan Village, 12 miles far away from Putao. The jeep drive ends on the bank of Malikha River, one of the 2 famous small rivers to become the greatest Ayeyarwaddy/Irrawaddy, and take a small boat to cross this river to get to the other side. The onward trekking is started there and sightseeing on the way includes Kaunghmulon Pagoda believed to be built 2000 years ago on the eastern bank of the small river, and unusual spirit/Nat images around the Stupa. It's about 5-mile trek passing through Rawan, Lizu and Shan tribal villages to a very green and carpet-like clean village named Nankhan Village where we leisurely linger around experience the genuine way of life of the Rawan people and overnight stop there in Nankhan village. Day-3 Nankhan village- Machanbaw village-Mularshidi-Putao (B)

After breakfast & check-out, start about 4 hour trek in the fresh morning air, of the distance of about 7 miles from Nankhan Village to Machanbaw, which is the last administrative town in northern Myanmar. On the way, stop to visit some villages of Rawan and Lizu tribal people to observe their way of life. At a small traditional restaurant in Machanbaw, Kachin styled Shan noodle, made of rice, some vegetables and fish, can be enjoyed for lunch and visit the famous Stone Dragon, which is a ‘must’ site at the view point. After crossing the river by the Malikha suspension bridge, proceed to Mularshide Lizu village for 1&1/2 hour car drive. Being not only the biggest Lizu village but the first place to have a touch with Christianity in northern Myanmar, the village has the first ever built church and Sunday School in the region, then proceed to drive to Putao, dinner time and overnight stop at the hotel there in Putao. Day-4 Putao-Yangon (B)

After breakfast & check-out at the hotel, enjoy again exploring the colorful local market under the rising sun in the dense mist, take a good chance there for local food, such as trying snacks and noodle, at a small restaurant in the market before flight back to Yangon, relax the rest of the day, dinner time and overnight at the hotel in Yangon.
